System Controls, Inc. was organized in 1964 to offer a control system design and manufacturing service to industries throughout the United States.

We are now serving customers in all regions of the country as well as in other countries such as England, Germany, Canada, Korea, Israel, Indonesia, Columbia and Venezuela with control equipment ranging in size and complexity from multi-million dollar material handling systems to room lighting control panels.

Our facility is located in Birmingham, Alabama, where we presently have 22,500 square feet of air-conditioned manufacturing space and 7,500 square feet of office space. Our engineering facilities include a Programmable Controller laboratory, a Microsoft Windows Computer Network consisting of multi processor based servers, workstations, laptops, and an Autodesk AutoCAD Computer Aided Design and Drafting System.

September 9, 2008 - A skid-mounted 4160 volt liquid-cooled 1000 HP AC Drive was unveiled today at an open house event. The unit is approximately 21’ L x 8’ D x 5’ H and may be configured with optional rubber tires.

July 21, 2008 - A skid-mounted low profile 4160 volt liquid-cooled 1000 HP AC Drive (Medium Voltage VFD) for underground use is being assembled and will be displayed in the Continental Crushing & Conveying booth at MINExpo in Las Vegas, NV, September 22 - 24, 2008.  For more information, click here.

April 1, 2008 - The first of two Dual 700 HP AC Belt Controllers at Foundation Coal was commissioned today.  This unit passed BOTE shop inspection in February before underground installation.

The dual controller consists of two skid-mounted single 700 HP, 600 VAC, ABB ACS800 Multi-Drive Power Modules and one skid-mounted Control Module that includes A-B ControLogix PLC and PanelView Plus HMI equipment.
This is the largest low voltage (600 VAC and below) HP belt controller delivered to date.  This design will allow for a maximum of 850 HP per Power Module with up to four Power Modules.

The Dual 700 HP AC Belt Controller was purchased by Continental Crushing & Conveying.

March 5, 2008 - System Controls, Inc. has entered an agreement as a Power Developer Partner (PDP) with Rockwell Automation.  This partnership allows System Controls, Inc. to package the Rockwell Automation PowerFlex 7000 medium voltage AC drive in a low profile skid-mounted enclosure for underground use.
