April 10, 2010 - A Single 500 HP Regenerative AC Drive and custom controls were commissioned today on the latest application of the Vector Winch technology for Continental Conveyor Products, a division of Joy Mining Machinery, at the Atlantic Marine facility in Jacksonville, Florida.  The existing 4160 VAC wound rotor motor and controls were replaced with a 480 VAC motor, VFD, and controls on one of the facility's marine rail winches.  The new technology will eliminate the speed and torque changes generated by the wound rotor system and provide for smoother movement of the winch platform.

February 11, 2010 - System Controls, Inc. released the latest feature for control of belt conveyors today.  Auto Slip Correction is now available on all AC and DC belt controllers.  This feature determines when a drive pulley is in a slip condition and by changing the setpoint to the AC drive eliminates the belt slip and returns to the normal operation.  The number of times that this correction may attempt to correct slip before declaring a fault condition is operator configurable.  This feature will eliminate nuisance tripping of conveyor belts.
